A few hours after confirming the suspension of the update with One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S22 line due to problems encountered by users, Samsung decided to release a new version of the update for its cell phones. The information was presented by trusted X user Tarun Vats (formerly Twitter).
According to the informant, the new version is identified by the following firmware codes: S908NKSU3EXE1, S908NOKR3EXE1 and S908NKSU3EXD7. It is now available for download in South Korea, Samsung’s home country, and will be released in more regions soon, if no serious problems are detected again.

The screenshot indicates that the update is actually One UI 6.1 based on Android 14. The update file weighs 3,215.33 MB, so we recommend that the download be done via WiFi with the cell phone battery charged to at least 50 % as the update may take several minutes to install.
There is still no forecast for the release of the update in Brazil, Tarun Vats estimates that the new version will be released in Europe tomorrow (10) or next Sunday (12).

Last week, users were excited about the distribution of One UI 6.1 in South Korea for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 lines, in addition to the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The Samsung Community forums in South Korea were flooded with users reporting that they were unable to download One UI 6.1 on their Galaxy S22 line devices, something that raised suspicions that Samsung had suspended the distribution of the update.
Now, Samsung has officially confirmed that the rollout of One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra has been paused, but has not revealed a reason for this or revealed when it will resume. A solution for cell phones that don’t turn on or unlock isn’t provided either.
The problems caused by the update are serious and there are reports of users activating the warranty. At the moment, it is not recommended to install One UI 6.1 on the Galaxy S22 line, not even through unofficial means.
So far, only flagships have received One UI 6.1, but the update is expected to reach intermediaries soon.

The update of One UI 6.1 it may take a little longer to reach the Galaxy S22 line, after all: according to a post on Samsung’s South Korean forum, the manufacturer may be holding back the update in order to correct boot problems seen on some devices that have previously received it.
The arrival of the new version of Samsung’s mobile operating system on the Galaxy S22 started earlier this weekbut after a few days, the smartphones allegedly no longer turned on after installation, forcing the company to halt the process and review the files in order to find the inconsistency.

The most interesting thing, however, is that the corresponding post on the forum came from a moderator without being a response to any previous question. In fact, users who responded to the employee on the page stated that they had not encountered any problems. It’s worth mentioning: One UI 6.1 was only available for the Galaxy S22 line in South Korea.
This, in practice, means that Samsung may have noticed the problem on its own, acting proactively to prevent complaints from arising or, at least, that the manufacturer had already initiated corrections when someone took a stand on the internet.

Of course, this is all speculation on our part, as Samsung has not acknowledged that the problems are related to the update, nor that the update itself is down. Still, South Korean users reported that, despite being compatible, their devices still do not list One UI 6.1 as an update available for download – something that should happen anyway.
For now, then, the recommendation is: avoid updating your smartphone’s One UI at the first moment – even if your device is not a Galaxy S22: systemic updates tend to reproduce the same errors on all devices linked to it and, considering that One UI 6.1 has a very high adoptionthis is an opportunity to get ahead of a possible headache.
