Motorola launches Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 with pOLED screen, 50 MP camera, integrated stylus and more

Motorola is expanding its portfolio of mid-range cell phones this Thursday (09) with the launch of the 2024 Moto G Stylus 5G. The new generation of the model brings important improvements to the screen and integrated stylus pen — which is one of its main differentiators .

Compared to the 2023 model, the Moto G Stylus 5G is equipped with an even larger 6.7-inch display that replaces IPS LCD technology with pOLED, which delivers greater brightness, contrast and color fidelity. The resolution remains Full HD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. As a result, the digital reader is now located under the display.

The name of this cell phone does not include the term “stylus” by chance. The Moto G Stylus 5G comes with a new electronic pen that has a larger contact area compared to the 2023 model’s accessory. In addition, the pen’s latency has been reduced to reduce the risk of errors when writing or drawing on the screen.

There is also a new interface for the pen’s features, such as optical character recognition (OCR) to extract text from a written or printed document, scan it and edit it on the Moto Note. In addition, it will be possible to choose applications to be displayed on the screen as soon as the pen is removed from the slot at the bottom of the cell phone.

The cell phone has two cameras on the back. The main lens has a 50 MP sensor with f/1.8 lens aperture, optical stabilization (OIS) and phase detection autofocus technology with PDAF, supporting video recording at up to Full HD @ 60 FPS. There is also an ultrawide lens with a 13 MP sensor. For selfies, the front camera has a 32 MP sensor.

Under the hood, the new generation of Moto G Stylus 5G remains equipped with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. This platform, also used in the 2023 model, works with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage that can be expanded with a MicroSD card of up to 2 TB.

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and supports 30 W fast charging via USB-C, in addition to being compatible with 15 W wireless charging. Other specifications include its stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, headphone jack (3 .5 mm) and support for contactless payments with NFC.

The 2024 Moto G Stylus 5G will be available on Motorola’s online store and other platforms on May 30 in the United States. O suggested price is US$399 (about R$2,049). The cell phone can also be purchased through contracts with local operators. There are two color options: beige and red.
