The United States is the main market for Apple, but everything indicates that the company has faced difficulties selling the iPhone 15 line in the country. This is because data published by “Consumer Intelligence Research Partners” (CIRP) reveals a drastic drop in the activation of new devices.

According to the research company, Apple has always maintained a mark of around 40%, but now that number has dropped to 33%something unprecedented since the survey began.

For CIRP analysts, this data proves that the American consumer is not very interested in the iPhone 15 line due to the lack of innovation and features that can be found in the competition.

This may also have led more consumers to buy a Galaxy S24 Ultra, which highlights features based on Artificial Intelligence.

Another factor that may be impacting the activation of new iPhones is consumers’ choice to keep their smartphone longer.

As smartphone prices have increased, fortunately their durability has also followed suit. The rapid escalation of resources has also slowed down. The shift from subsidized two-year phone purchase contracts to more transparent phone purchase plans has motivated many smartphone owners to wait a little longer to switch smartphones. This may be affecting Apple’s sales a little more than its Android competitors.

For these CIRP analysts, Apple still has a good opportunity ahead, as many iPhone users are waiting for the arrival of the iPhone 16 line to change devices.

Therefore, AI resources will be extremely important to convince this “mass” to change cell phones in 2025, making Apple’s numbers return to around 40%.
