Capcom raises profit forecast for last fiscal year

Capcom raised its full-year earnings forecast following the strong performance of new and returning games during the 12 months ending March 31, 2024. The Japanese publisher, which is due to release its full-year earnings on May 9, had previously forecast record results for the fiscal year in its original guidance.

Through a press release, the Japanese publisher revealed that:

  • Increased its net sales forecast by 8.9% to 152.4 billion yen ($979 million);
  • It increased its net profit forecast by 8.3% to 43.3 billion ($278 million).

“In our core Digital Content business, in addition to Street Fighter 6, the latest title in the Street Fighter series, being well received worldwide, Dragon’s Dogma 2 was released in the fourth quarter and performed favorably,” said Capcom.

“Additionally, sales have increased for back catalog titles, mainly consisting of previous titles from major series due to their continued popularity. All of this led us to expect the gains from this sector to exceed our plan”, added the publisher.
