A general confusion was registered at the entrance of Cruzeiro fans to Mineiro, this Sunday afternoon (4/9), before the duel against Cricima, for the 28th round of Serie B of the Brazilian Championship. Many Cruzeiro residents jumped the fence and invaded the access area to the seats. The Military Police had to intervene with the use of force.
Many fans left to access the stands at Mineiro close to the time of the match. Due to the long lines to enter the stadium through the Yellow Sector, hundreds of Cruzeiro residents forced and managed to tear down the bars of the fence.
To contain part of the invasion, the PM used tear gas and tried to block the advance of fans without tickets with clubs. Elderly people, children and women were also affected.
This practice has been repeated in some Cruzeiro games in Mineiro. In the celestial victory by 2 to 1 over Sport, on June 29, for example, people from Cruzeiro provoked a beginning of turmoil in the access to the stadium. However, the turnstiles were released to prevent further damage.
Superesportes made contact with Mineiro’s advisory to have a position on the confusion, but had no response until the publication of this report.

Cruzeiro, in turn, spoke about what happened this Sunday afternoon. Responsible for inspecting the entry of fans into the stadium, the club repudiated acts of violence against fans.
“Pause at this point for a serious conversation: unacceptable acts of violence took place at the entrance of our fans this Sunday. We have been fighting a huge fight against forgeries of tickets and orchestrated movements of people who gather to invade the stadium”, he began.
“We will continue to qualify our processes and expand our security force so that all our fans can live their love for Cruzeiro in peace,” he added.
