Always speculated about in clubs abroad, the midfielder From Arrascaetaof Flamengoseems to have another person interested in his football: Blue Crossfrom Mexico.
In a radio interview Carve Deportiva 1010 AMthe football director of the Mexican team, Ivan Alonsowas asked about his desire to have the Uruguayan and left a mystery in the air.
While praising the “historic” player and his leadership position at Flamengo, he admitted that the star would be a great addition to the ranks of Cruz Azul, which is one of the most important (and richest) clubs in Mexico.
“I’m not going to ‘invent’ Giorgian de Arrascaeta as a player. He’s historic and captain of Flamengo. I think that any sporting director you ask, few would say they’re not interested and would like to count on him”, he began.
“From then until (something in terms of negotiation) can happen, many things happen in between… I neither confirm nor deny (the interest), and I speak to you as a former player and as a fan of good football. Who wouldn’t want to to have De Arrascaeta on your team?”, he asked.
Arrasca, 29 years old, has been at Rubro-Negro since 2019, when he was hired from Cruzeiro.
Multi-champion with the Flamengo shirt, he renewed his contract for the last time with the team on January 18, 2022.
On that occasion, the star extended his contract, which would end in 2023, until December 2026.
In the current season, the midfielder has 3 goals and 5 assistance in 18 matches for Mengão.
