After the drama of rescuing the horse that was stranded amidst the floods in Rio Grande do Sul, the internet was filled with memes about the animal.
Most of the jokes play on the confusion surrounding the sex of the horse – first identified as male, then declared a mare by rescuers and finally recognized as male again by veterinarians who already knew him.
Due to its brown coat, the horse gained nicknames on social media throughout the confusion, such as “Caramelo”, “Caramela”, and “Caramelx”. “When in doubt, cavale”, posted one of the internet users, making humor with the use of neutral language.
Others had a “reveal tea” and even called the animal non-binary.
The horse spent at least a day balancing on the only piece of roof of a residence in Canoas, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, that had not been hit by water. Teams arrived at the scene to remove the animal, sedated, in fire boats and boats this Thursday (9).
Images from the episode went viral and generated hashtags such as SalvemOCavaloDeCanoas , with thousands of mentions on X (formerly Twitter) since Wednesday (8), in addition to moving influencers, artists and authorities.
According to First Lady Rosângela Silva, Janja, there is already a stud farm to receive the horse. There is no information, however, about who would own the animal.
But internet users are already waiting for the character of the week to appear on Ana Maria Braga’s show or on Fantástico.
