From June 1st, telemarketing companies must follow strict measures, which aim to contain the annoying flow of mass telephone calls, reducing inconvenience to consumers. The decision was announced on Friday (26), by Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency).

Extended timeout
Previously, the time limit for a call to be considered short was three seconds, but now, with the changes, this time is up to six seconds.
Furthermore, Anatel expanded the concept of short calls to include those directed to voicemail, in addition to calls not completed.
Telemarketing companies will have a limit of 85% of short calls in relation to the total number of calls made, with a 15-day block for those that exceed this limit, if they make more than 100 thousand calls in a day.
According to Anatel, teleservices companies have tried to circumvent previous rules by moving the time of short calls to between 4 and 6 seconds.
Calls without dialogue will be monitored
The agency also highlighted the practice of inappropriate or non-dialogue calls, which will now be monitored more closely.

In addition, the agency has now also determined the use of code 0303 for collection calls.
The “Qual Empresa Called Me” portal is maintained, which aims to enable the user to identify the CNPJ, the Corporate Name of telephone numbers whose holder is a legal entity.
Companies that do not comply with the measures will be subject to fines of up to R$50 million.
