Fluminense arrived early this Tuesday in Lima, Peru, where they will face Alianza Lima in their debut at Conmebol Libertadores 2024. The match will be played on Wednesday, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Estádio Alejandro Villanueva. The major absences are due to midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso and striker Germán Cano, who were not listed.

Current champion, Fluminense debuts on Wednesday (03/04) at Conmebol Libertadores

The delegation arrived at around 3:45 am (Brasília time) at Lima Airport and then went to the hotel located in San Isidro.

Cano has been suffering from a sprain, which took him out of Fla-Flu on the way back from the Carioca semi-final. Ganso has not yet recovered from a muscle problem in his right calf. In total, there are eight absences and the list of absences for coach Fernando Diniz also includes: Manoel (left ankle), Marlon (right knee), Keno (left ankle) and Gabriel Pires (left knee). Striker John Kennedy and left-back Diogo Barbosa are suspended.

Coach Fernando Diniz listed 25 players to make up the group that heads to Lima. The team will hold its last training session before the match this Tuesday. The activities take place at the Peruvian Football Federation Training Center.

One of the new players among the athletes who traveled is striker Douglas Costa, who is recovering from an injury.

  • Attackers: David Terans, Douglas Costa, Isaac, Jhon Arias, Kauã Elias, Lelê, Lucumí and Marquinhos.

Current champions, Fluminense are in Group A of the continental competition, which also includes Cerro Porteño, from Paraguay, and Colo-Colo, from Chile.
