Drummer’s mother Eloy Casagrande, Lidia Casagrandetook advantage of the post announcing the musician as a member of the band Slipknot, made on the group’s official Instagram profile, to leave an emotional message for their son. After rumors that Eloy would be the new drummer, Slipknot confirmed the news with a photo of the Brazilian dressed in the band’s red jumpsuit and mask this Tuesday, the 30th.

“My son, a movie is playing in my head right now”, began Lidia. “How much study, dedication, focus, discipline. How much struggle, achievements, determination, perseverance, always learning.”
Lidia said that Eloy really dreamed of being in the band one day. “The world awaits you with its divine music. What a thrill. Heart explodes with joy, tears, total adrenaline. I don’t even know how to define the mix of feelings I feel, but it’s all very intense, strong and happy”, he said.
The drummer’s mother wished her son to “fly high” and, finally, congratulated the musician. “The sky, for you, never had a limit. Your music is of total love, of infinite grandeur, because you always play with your heart and soul. Your dedication is total. […] Thank you for everything always, I love you more than infinity,” she wrote.
On Tuesday, Eloy also celebrated the announcement. “A very emotional moment. Unthinkable until then. […] See you on the road, my Slipknotos”, he wrote, also in an Instagram post.
Rumors that the Brazilian would be the new member of the group began to gain strength after the band’s performance at the Pappy + Harriet’s bar, in the United States, on the 25th. The show was the first with the current drummer.
Eloy became known as the drummer of Sepultura, the most important heavy metal band in the country, which he joined in 2011, at the age of 20. The announcement of the musician’s departure shortly before the band’s farewell tour took fans and even the group by surprise in February.
