Every Sepultura fan already knows that drummer Eloy Casagrande left the group on the eve of the first show of their final world tour, titled Celebrating Life Through Death. Fans also know that American drummer Greyson Nekrutman is Eloy’s replacement and has done a great job alongside the band.
The news surrounding this subject focuses on the relationship between Andreas Kisser, leader and guitarist of Sepultura, and Casagrande. According to journalist Regis Tadeu, the relationship between the two musicians was very strained.
Regis said: “My journalistic nose told me that this didn’t all happen out of nowhere! I spoke to three people directly involved with Sepultura’s inner circle and all three, on condition of anonymity, confirmed the same thing: the relationship between Andreas and Eloy was very frayed, to say the least.”
The journalist added: “They were already having serious relationship problems within the band! Of course, this had never been exposed by the band until the moment of Eloy’s official declaration that he was leaving Sepultura”.
