Director of the new ‘Captain America’ comments on the villain’s participation [SPOILER]

Tim Blake Nelson (‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’) will return to the MCU in ‘Captain America: Brave New World‘, reprising his role as Dr. Samuel Sterns, introduced in ‘The incredible Hulk’.

For those who don’t remember, Sterns is the scientist who ends up becoming the villain known as Leader while trying to help Bruce Banner control the Hulk.

During an interview for Empirethe director Julius Onah commented on the villain’s role in the plot, saying that he will be a great obstacle for Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie).

“Let’s just say Sam finds himself almost between Samuel Sterns and what he thinks the government owes him. And he wants to get what he thinks is rightfully his, so Sam is sent to stop him from doing what Sterns thinks has to be done to get it.”

Previously, Nelson had already spoken with the comic books about the long-awaited return of the villain and said that he will have a look faithful to the comics.

In the original material, the Leader is seen with a head disproportionate to his body and greenish skin, something that was already teased at the end of ‘The incredible Hulk‘.

And a Twitter page dedicated to news about the Marvel universe shared new art that reveals the villain’s appearance.

“I’m really excited for the movie because I had a lot of fun shooting it,” he said. Nelson. “And I worked with a wonderful makeup artist named David Athertonwith whom I have collaborated on a dozen films.”
