For many, finding happiness can seem like a tireless, never-ending quest, filled with mysterious paths and unexpected challenges.

When this “journey” is brought to fiction, a big question arises: does life imitate art or art imitates life?

Regardless of the answer, there is a film hidden on Netflix that offers a refuge for those seeking not only entertainment, but also reflection and personal growth.

Netflix, the most popular streaming platform in the world, has countless titles in its catalog, ranging from good options for relaxing to electrifying scenes.

But there are also films about self-knowledge that provide a different look at life, essential for those who are constantly seeking happiness.

“The Least to Live”, a film directed by Marti Noxon, released in 2017, is a strong and moving journey about eating disorders.

The film follows Ellen (Lily Collins), a young artist, who fights not only against her own self-destructive mind, but also against the expectations of those around her.

Ellen has already undergone several treatments, but always ends up being “overcome” by the disease, until she accepts an unconventional method of hospitalization.

At the treatment center, she is introduced to a group of patients, each fighting their own personal battle with anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating.

Under the guidance of a “different” doctor, played by Keanu Reeves, the group goes through a therapy process, confronting their inner demons and discovering reasons to embrace the will to live.

The film deals with food issues, but also sensitively addresses a series of delicate topics, such as mental health and self-knowledge.

In addition to the social pressure coming from people close to us and the difficult journey in search of the dreamed happiness.

“The Minimum to Live” also offers moments of humor, humanity and hope, showing that “rock bottom” is not the end.

The film is a powerful and necessary work, after all, we all have internal battles that we don’t tell anyone about. Watch the trailer:
