The approval of the credit in the Budget will allow the payment of committee amendments to senators. Despite resistance from the opposition, the text obtained the minimum number of votes necessary to be approved. The Liberal Party (PL) even tried to remove the release of R$15.7 billion, but the highlight was rejected, resulting in 41 votes in favor of the measure and 28 against.

The release of this amount is due to an insertion in the new DPVAT project, which modifies an aspect of the tax system to enable the transfer of these resources.

While the current fiscal framework provides for the release of funds to the government after the second bimonthly result with higher-than-expected revenue, the device included in the DPVAT project allows for the release after the first two months.

Release of resources to the government

In the next session, scheduled for this Thursday, the 9th, it is expected that the veto of R$5.6 billion in committee amendments will be partially revoked, allowing the “return” of R$3.6 billion to Congress. Payment of amendments will be made with part of the released credit.
