The State Department of Health (SES-TO) will carry out technical visits to hospital units affiliated with and managed by the ministry, to the two Strategic Health Surveillance Information Centers (CIEVS) that make up the State network and to the Epidemiological Surveillance Departments of the Municipal Health Departments. of nine municipalities. The purpose of the visit is to monitor surveillance actions.

Technical visits are coordinated by the strategic areas of the Health Surveillance Strategic Information Center (CIEVS), the coordination of the State Hospital Epidemiological Surveillance Network (Reveh) and the Rapid Response Unit (URR). On the 24th and 25th, SES-TO technicians were at the Porto Nacional Regional Hospital (HRPN), the Tia Dedé Maternal and Child Hospital (HMITD) and the Porto Nacional Municipal Health Department. This Tuesday, the 30th, the visit will take place at the Paraíso do Tocantins Regional Hospital (HRPT).

“Technical visits to the Hospital Epidemiology Centers (NHE) are important, as we operate in two aspects, one with monitoring that is carried out with the aim of verifying the routine of the service and the other is the evaluation where we expand the understanding of the actions carried out and we checked whether the recommendations made in the previous year had an effect on the work process”, explained Reveh coordinator, Patricia Moreira.

Caroline Oliveira, technical manager of the HRPN Hospital Epidemiology Center, highlighted the importance of technical assistance to the Surveillance Centers, emphasizing how this interaction provides a valuable opportunity to identify limitations, face challenges and continually improve the work carried out. She also highlighted that the feedback received compared to the previous year contributes significantly to the improvement of the Hospital Epidemiology Center.

The surveillance network

The State Hospital Epidemiological Surveillance Network is made up of 14 strategic Hospital Epidemiology Centers (NHE), in nine municipalities in the State. The NHEs are within 11 (eleven) State Reference Hospitals, one philanthropic, one teaching hospital at the Federal University of Tocantins and one municipal hospital in Araguaína. Technical assistance aims to align work processes, to operationalize epidemiological surveillance, intra and extra hospital, in the detection and investigation of compulsory notification diseases in accordance with current ordinances that are followed in the units and also monitor and immediately respond to specific situations. that could be potential public health emergencies.
