An accident with a travel bus that overturned on BR-116, at KM 85, in Medina, in the Vale do Jequitinhonha region, killed seven people and more than thirty were injured, on Saturday night (27).
According to information from the Fire Department, the bus overturned on a curve. At the scene of the accident, the driver was not located, but he may be among the victims and the military suspects that the vehicle is clandestine, as no list of passengers was found.
The highway was reopened around 3:30 in the morning. At the scene, forensic experts were called and are now investigating the causes of the accident.

According to Sergeant Marcio Antônio, from the 3rd Platoon of Araçuaí, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, the bus was leaving Pernambuco headed for São Paulo. Among the dead were one woman and three men. The military was called to the scene of the accident at around 8:20 pm, with more than 30 victims injured and in serious condition, taken to hospitals in Medina and Itaobim, close to the region. Four deaths were confirmed in BR, two in Itaobim hospital and one in Medina hospital.
