Otorhinolaryngologist Gilson Meirelles Campos Júnior detailed this Saturday (27) how he was kidnapped on Wednesday (24), when leaving a pharmacy in Pituba, an upscale neighborhood in Salvador. The suspects were arrested on Friday (26), the same day the victim was released.

“I was surprised by a car that blocked mine, which was parked. An armed man told me to get out of the car, I was scared and decided to obey. They hooded me and put me in the back of the car,” he said.

After being placed in the back of the suspects’ car, Gilson was hooded and had his hands and legs tied. The car started and the group headed to Castro Alves, a city in the Bahian region – a fact that the doctor only discovered later, because he couldn’t see the reason for the sale.

Gilson also said that when he got out of his car and entered the suspects’ vehicle, he did not take his cell phone. Along the way, the suspects stated that they wanted the victim to make pix, but he was unable to make the transfers because he did not have the device.

The suspects contacted Gilson’s family to carry out financial negotiations. Scared, the family members called the police.

During negotiations between the suspects and family members, the doctor was taken into captivity in Castro Alves. According to him, the kidnappers were very careful so that he could not see the location or the suspects’ faces.

“They tried to be calm and I tried to be calm. I tried to maintain this balance so as not to increase the stress situation”, said the doctor.

Although the suspects stated that they would not kill him, as they only wanted money, the doctor thought he would die a few times. It took more than 24 hours of kidnapping and the doctor’s team published a statement on social media, where he has more than 19 thousand followers. [Veja acima]

“Sometimes they would move away from me, start talking to each other and pull out the gun and I thought: now go!”

According to the Military Police, on Friday, teams patrolling Castro Alves spotted the car with the suspects, they abandoned the doctor in the vehicle and fled. The doctor was taken to the hospital and released the same day.

The four suspects were found on the same day, in the Pituba neighborhood, in Salvador, close to the place where the kidnapping took place.
