Two women are murdered in less than 48 hours in the city of Bahia

A man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing his ex-partner to death on Thursday night (25), in the city of Conceição do Coité, 200 km from Salvador. According to the Civil Police, the victim was identified as Emmele Maria Mota Araújo, 31 years old.

According to police, on Thursday afternoon, Emmele and the suspect were taken to the city police station after a fight. During the argument, he allegedly threatened her with a screwdriver.

The Civil Police reported that the two showed signs of intoxication. At the police unit, the woman denied having called the police and said that she did not want to record the man’s threat.

Also according to the police, because of the woman’s decision not to criminally represent the case, the two had to be released from the police unit. The man left the police station about an hour before the woman, who was advised to look for the unit within six months, if she decided to file a police report.

Hours after Emmele Maria left the police station, the two met again and the victim was killed. The suspect was arrested red-handed.

Three days ago, a woman, identified as Edneia Nascimento dos Reis, 41 years old, died after being beaten in the house where she lived, in Conceição do Coité. According to information from the Águia Resgate Brigade, witnesses said that the suspect of committing the crime was a companion of the victim, who fled the scene by jumping out the window.

Her body was found with signs of beating. Two children, daughters of the victim, witnessed the crime.

Military police were called and carried out patrols in the region, but did not find the suspect. The case is investigated as feminicide by the Conceição do Jacuípe police station.
