A 37-year-old man was arrested this Friday (26), suspected of raping his own daughter for four years. According to the Civil Police, he went to the police station to make a false report that his daughter was being abused by another man.
The crimes took place when the victim was eight years old. According to police, her mother lived in another state and was unaware of the abuse cases. She came to Tocantins and took her daughter to live with her. Her father’s name has not been disclosed, so the g1 had no contact with the suspect’s defense.
According to the delegate responsible for the case, João Luís da Costa Jucá, the suspect told the police that his daughter was being abused by a 25-year-old man. When making the false report, he also said that the alleged suspect was having a relationship with the victim.
“The Civil Police discovered that the man had created this story to eventually favor him in the dispute over custody of the minor, and in fact, the father was the one who abused the victim. The abuse began when she was eight years old and persisted for the next four years,” said the delegate.
The investigations were concluded and the suspect was indicted for rape of a vulnerable person in a continuing crime and with an increased sentence for being committed against a descendant.
According to the police, due to the history of violence and threats, the father’s preventive arrest was necessary. He was taken to the Colméia Prison Unit, where he will be held at the disposal of the Justice Department.
