Governor announces tender that will begin the duplication of PRC-466, in Guarapuava

Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior signed this Thursday (25), in Guarapuava, in the central region of Paraná, the authorization for the bidding for the duplication of PRC-466. The work will begin from the urban area of ​​Guarapuava to the district of Palmeirinha. There will be 11.52 kilometers of new concrete tracks.

The investment in this section by the Department of Highways of Paraná (DER/PR), an agency of the State Secretariat for Infrastructure and Logistics (Seil), is estimated at R$ 120.45 million. The work is one of the management priorities, presented in the large project package for the coming years. The bidding should take place in May.

“Today we authorized the first batch, which goes from the urban section of Guarapuava to the district of Palmeirinha. Then we will release the second batch, until Turvo, and so on. It is a project that has all the money guaranteed, with the entire project completed. Now the DER is just making some revisions”, detailed the governor.

He also explained that the duplication of PR-466 will be made of concrete, which guarantees greater durability of the road. “It is a modern work because we are talking about the same concrete road that is made in the United States, in Germany. And Paraná is currently the state that builds the most concrete highways. And this work for us is a reason for great joy because for a long time the central region of the State was greatly penalized for not having infrastructure, not having investments. We are reversing this”, emphasized Ratinho Junior.

The Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Logistics, Sandro Alex, also highlighted the fact that the duplication is concrete. Furthermore, in the technique called whitetopping, the existing runway will be restored because the existing asphalt pavement undergoes recycling and is used as a base for the construction of concrete slabs of the rigid pavement. This solution has already been used in the restoration of PRC-280 in the Southwest, between Palmas and Pato Branco (with sections already delivered, under construction or with bidding underway).

“Concrete highways mean more durability, more safety and more capacity, because we have a heavy flow of trucks, mainly wooden trucks, on this highway. That’s why we need a floor that is much more resistant”, highlighted Sandro Alex.

BIDDING – The bidding will be in the Electronic Public Competition modality, in which the participant who presents the most advantageous price proposal for the public administration and who has their documentation approved by the DER/PR contracting committee is declared the winner. The next stage of the process is the opening of price proposals on the federal government’s purchasing portal. The notice and its annexes are available both on federal portal as in Shopping Paranápublic procurement portal of the Government of Paraná.

The section served goes from km 247.02 in Palmeirinha to the beginning of the existing double carriageway in the urban perimeter of Guarapuava, at km 258.54. A new runway will be implemented with two lanes of 3.6 meters wide each, shoulders of 2.5 meters on both sides, separated from the existing runway by a median or New Jersey concrete barriers.

There will be three double “U” U-turns at intersections at the section level, which will regulate traffic and access to municipal roads and commercial establishments, at km 250.7, km 256.2 and km 257.4. The work also foresees the execution of a new bridge over the River Coutinho, parallel to the existing one, with a length of 40 meters and a width of 13 meters, in addition to improving the geometry of curves, improvements in access to neighboring lots, sidewalks with tactile flooring , new vertical and horizontal signage, metal fenders and shelters at bus stops, among others.

The execution period will be 540 calendar days (18 months), after the bidding is completed, the contract is signed and the Service Order is issued.

PUBLIC HEARING – DER/PR will promote an online public hearing at the beginning of May on the other sections of PRC-466 between Guarapuava and Pitanga. In total, the works along a 71-kilometer stretch will be presented and discussed. The interventions planned by the State Government also include improvements such as viaducts and at-grade returns, in addition to duplication and restoration. All documents are on a specific DER/PR website.
