Unanimously, the parliamentarians of the Senate’s Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJ) approved this Wednesday (04/24) the final report by Senator Weverton Rocha (PDT-MA) on Bill 4015/23. After approval by the CCJ, the senators approved the urgent request presented by senator Weverton Rocha (PDT-MA), rapporteur of the project.

The session was attended by the Administration and Finance Coordinator Anderson Ferreira, representing Sindjus, and representing ASMPF by the Director of the Association’s Police Unit, Thiago Medeiros.
With approval, the text now goes directly to the Plenary of the Federal Senate and could be voted on this Wednesday afternoon.

PL 4015/23’s main objective is to recognize the activities of the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office as a permanent risk, guaranteeing its members protective measures and calls for tougher criminal treatment for crimes such as homicide and intentional bodily injury committed against these professionals, whether in the exercise of the function, as a result of it, or against their spouse, partner or relative, up to the third degree, due to this condition.

Sindjus articulated two amendments with Senator Izalci Lucas, which were accepted by the rapporteur and approved in the final text of the project at the CCJ. In amendment No. 24, Sindjus proposed to include the Public Prosecutor’s Office Police Officers, considering the principle of equality, which must be applied to all police categories, which in addition to the safety of MPU members, also provide support to the institution’s employees and employees, in high-risk activities, custody hearings, in addition to armed and motorized escort of people and assets assigned to the Public Ministry.

In amendment 25, Sindjus proposes to improve the proposal, in order to include Judicial Police Officers, considering the principle of equality, which must be applied to all police categories. For us at Sindjus, the Security of the Judiciary, which is carried out by Agents and Inspectors of the Judicial Police, a position that makes up the entire structure of the Judiciary of the Union, could not be absent from the text of the project, since this is a police category that is of high importance for the Judiciary and Brazilian society.

The union will continue to work hard and make the necessary arrangements to ensure the approval of PL 4015/23 in plenary, as approved by the CCJ, with the greatest urgency possible.

Proud to be Sindjus! Join and strengthen your Union.
