The 18 short and feature films selected for the fourth edition of Mostra Cinemas do Brasil will be shown on TVE starting next Wednesday (03). The productions, including one from Espírito Santo, address street cinemas, film characters and film society actions in the country. The sessions air weekly on Wednesdays, starting at 11:30 pm on open TV (Channel 2.1).

“TVE’s mission is to promote public and democratic communication that provides access to information, education and culture, encouraging critical reflection on reality. The films selected for the Exhibition, in addition to their technical quality, reveal some of Brazil’s cultural richness. It is our role, as a public broadcaster, to offer people from Espírito Santo diverse content, which contributes to the cultural formation of citizens”, said Hugo Reis, director of TVE Espírito Santo.

Entitled “A portrait of our times”, the fourth edition of Mostra Cinemas do Brasil brings together documentary, experimental and fictional films. The Exhibition presents a panorama of films that seek to pay homage to the country’s street cinemas and that propose a discussion on the current situation of these architectural monuments. The 2024 edition pays homage to Cinema Rio Branco de Nazaré, in Bahia, one of the oldest in Brazil still in operation.
