After a week of cloudy days, April begins with a striking contrast in Cuiabá and several cities in Mato Grosso, where the sun shines brightly early in the morning. However, the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issues a storm warning for the entire state, bringing with it the expectation of a “sudden change in temperature” in the first half of the month.

According to the Clima Tempo website, on April 13, the minimum temperature in Cuiabá should be 20°C, a relatively cool day by local standards. Inmet predicts temperatures between 27°C and 36°C on this “April Fools’ Day”. In the following days, the temperature will fluctuate between 26°C and 35°C on Tuesday (2) and between 25°C and 34°C on Wednesday (3), remaining like this until Friday (5), with rain expected every day.

In Chapada dos Guimarães, located 67 km north of the capital, the forecast is for temperatures between 23°C and 35°C throughout the week, with the possibility of rain showers at any time.

In Cáceres, located 225 km west of Cuiabá, the forecast remains similar to that of Chapada dos Guimarães, with a minimum of 24°C and a maximum varying between 34°C and 36°C. Lots of clouds and isolated rain showers are expected throughout the day.

In the capital of Nortão, Sinop, located 500 km from Cuiabá, the days are marked by storm warnings, while the heat persists, with thermometers reading between 24°C and 31°C.

In turn, Rondonópolis, located 215 km south of the capital, will have rainy days and temperatures ranging from 23°C to 36°C.

Given these forecasts, it is important that the population pays attention to weather warnings and takes the necessary precautions, especially given the possibility of storms and sudden changes in temperature at the beginning of April in Mato Grosso.
