Amid King Charles III’s cancer, there is a lot of questioning about what Kate Middleton’s title will be if her husband, Prince William, becomes king. Currently, she receives the title of Princess of Wales.

If William becomes king, with the death or inability of King Charles III to govern the United Kingdom, Kate Middleton will receive the title of Queen Consort, and may be called Queen Kate or Queen Catherine.

As royal historian Marlene Koenig explained to Hello! magazine, the title of Queen Consort is generally given to the wife of a reigning king. She does not become sovereign in her own right, but she will still bring Kate several responsibilities.

William, as he is the fifth to use that name, will become King William V. Together, the couple will attend official events as king and queen, but they will also have different commitments and duties. Kate’s main services will be in charity work, public service and representing the monarchy on the national and international stage.

Kate Middleton revealed her fight against cancer

After numerous speculations about the disappearance of Princess Kate Middleton, in March she announced on social media that he has cancer. According to the royals, she is undergoing chemotherapy sessions.

The revelation was made in a video shared on social media on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ profile. She was grateful for the affection she received since the abdominal surgery was announced in January. “I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding while I was recovering from surgery,” she said.

“It has been a very difficult few months for our entire family. But I have a fantastic medical team who are taking great care of me and I am very grateful,” added the princess.

According to her, at the time she underwent the surgical procedure, she was told that her condition was not cancer. The surgery was successful, but tests showed that it was indeed the disease. “My medical team advised that I undergo preventive chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of this treatment,” Kate explained.

“We need time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. I need to focus on a full recovery”, she concluded, without specifying the type of cancer.

Cancer of King Charles III

Buckingham Palace announced in February this year that the King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer. According to the statement, the medical team noticed a new problem after the surgery he underwent in January.

After tests, it was found that King Charles III has cancer. The location, however, was not disclosed. The Royal Family chose to communicate about the diagnosis to “prevent speculation” involving the monarch’s health and line of succession.
