The Ministry of Management and Innovation managed to close an agreement to partially restore salaries with Central Bank employees, this Wednesday (24).

The accepted proposal provides for a 6.7% correction in salaries from January 2025 and 10.9% in May 2026. Although they accepted the proposal, the workers made it clear that they were “dissatisfied” with the proposed value.

In a statement, the National Association of Analysts of the Central Bank of Brazil (ANBCB) reported that the government also accepted a historic request to change the job nomenclature of higher-level employees in the Central Bank Specialist career. Analysts are now called “auditor”.

The National Union of Central Bank Employees (Sinal) highlighted that the government’s proposal was approved by 80% of the 1,500 participants who followed the negotiation meeting virtually. According to the union, “the next step is the signing of the Agreement with the Federal Government, which should happen in the next few days”.

The mobilization of BC employees began in January last year, and since July, they have been in standard operation. At the beginning of this year, a 24-hour strike was held. The government presented a proposal on April 18, however, officials rejected it.
