Why Brazil will have a fighter jet meeting in Natal

This year, Cruzex will take place in November, at the Natal Air Base, in Rio Grande do Norte. The meeting will bring together more than ten countries, including Brazil, and around 100 Brazilian and foreign military aircraft. The total predicted by the FAB is between 1,200 and 1,300 hours flown.

In addition to Brazilian fighters, the exercise will also feature Israeli Kfir and French Mirage fighters. According to the aviation website Aeroin, the Israeli IAI Kfir aircraft belongs to the Colombian Air Force, while the Mirage 2000P belongs to the Peruvian Air Force.

In addition to Brazil, Colombia and Peru, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Portugal, Uruguay and the USA will also participate in this year’s edition of Cruzex. South Africa, Germany, Bolivia, Italy and Sweden will only send observers.

Participating aircraft. While the entire FAB combat fleet, including the SAAB F-39E Gripen, F-5 Tiger II, A-29 Super Tucano and A-1 AMX fighters, is expected to participate in the operation, other aircraft such as Douglas A-4AR fighters Skyhawk, Lockheed Martin F-16 Falcon fighters, Lockheed KC-130H Hercules cargo and refueling plane and Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules aircraft are also expected to be present at the exercise.
