Madeleine McCann disappeared from a hotel room in Praia da Luz, Algarve region, in Portugal, when she was 4 years old. It was the night of 2007 when her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, left the girl and her 2-year-old twin brothers alone in their room while they had dinner with friends at a resort restaurant. When they returned, they realized that their daughter was no longer there.

The main suspect in Madeleine’s disappearance is the German known as Christian B, who is currently facing trial in his home country. He is accused of sexual crimes unrelated to the girl’s disappearance, but which took place between 2000 and 2017.
