Record defined the soap opera that will replace A Terra Prometida in the afternoon reruns range. The São Paulo broadcaster led by Cristiane Cardoso chose Apocalypse, a serial originally aired between November 2017 and June 2018, which had 155 chapters. It will be the second re-presentation of the plot. In 2020, the production won a special edition in prime time during the break in recording Amor Sem Igual (2019) caused by the health crisis.
Written by Vivian de Oliveira, Apocalypse was collaborated by Alexandre Teixeira, Emilio Boechat, João Gabriel Carneiro, Marcos Lazarini and Maria Cláudia Oliveira. The historical consultancy was provided by Marcella Castor Polidoro and Mauricio Santos. Adaptation of the book Apocalypse, the Record soap opera was directed by Edson Spinello. The premiere is scheduled for May 27th, at 3:30 pm.

The story of Apocalypse begins in the 1980s, in New York, with the meeting of four young people of different nationalities: the Brazilian Susana Aisen (Carolina Oliveira), the Israeli Débora Koheg (Manuela do Monte), the North American Alan Gudman ( Maurício Pitanga) and the Italian Adriano Montana (Felipe Cunha). Sharing Jewish ancestry, Susana and Débora become friends, while arousing the interest of Alan and Adriano, respectively.
However, the intentions of the two boys are different. Alan truly falls in love with Susana, planning to marry her, while Adriano seduces Débora with false promises, resulting in a pregnancy. The rejection of the pregnancy by Débora’s family leads her to look for Adriano, forced by her father to marry her, even against her will. Two decades pass, and the destinies of the four young people change drastically.
Susana (Mônica Torres) becomes a respected doctor, married to Alan (Eduardo Galvão) and with two children: computer engineer Benjamin (Igor Rickli) and archaeologist Isabela (Paloma Bernardi). Débora (Bia Seidl), in turn, faces an unhappy marriage with Adriano (Eduardo Lago) and the hostility of her mother-in-law, Verônica (Selma Egrei). The couple’s son, Ricardo Montana (Sérgio Marone), will be the central figure of the story, destined to be the antichrist.
