Buba (Gabriela Medeiros) will go through an unprecedented experience that will be shown in the remake of Renascer. Author Bruno Luperi will correct an error that changes the girl’s entire trajectory and that went unnoticed in the original version of the novel.
Unlike 1993, now the psychologist comes face to face with her parents. The characters appear played by Malu Galli and Guilherme Fontes, years after breaking up with his ex. José Venâncio (Rodrigo Simas).
Encouraged by Jose Augusto (Renan Monteiro), Buba decides to look for his parents. She wants to make peace after coming out as a trans woman and leaving home. “I was the one who killed their son…”reports the girl, feeling guilty about her condition.
Thus, Buba’s reunion with his parents takes place, something that was not foreseen in the original version of Renascer. In 1993, Buba was an intersex woman and her relationship with her parents was not that problematic, at least the few times she brought it up.
Now, by making peace with her father and mother, the psychologist is able to free herself. Afterwards, she admits that she is a trans woman to José Inocêncio (Marcos Palmeira) and even becomes the colonel’s daughter-in-law, as she is cleared of the lie and is free to get involved with José Augusto.
Correcting the story is a way to increase and improve representation in the plot. Although innovative in the original version, Buba’s drama did not advance much and was left in the background after the girl moved to the colonel’s farm.
