The packed stands were encouraged by the messages “Together we are making history” and “Thanks to you, the tricolor heart beats again”.

Unable to find seats, fans were crammed into the aisles. In the final stage, when the game cooled down, the traditional ola was rehearsed three times in the upper ring.

According to figures released by the club before the match, 71,000 tickets were sold for the first five games of the season. At the Ligga Arena alone, more than 36 thousand tickets were sold.

After the final whistle, confusion almost ruined the show. With pushing and swearing between fans and security guards in the area reserved for the organized Fúria Independente, more violent scenes were suppressed by the arrival of the Military Police.

Anxiety and joy mix upon return from Paraná Clube

Around the stadium, the atmosphere was one of happiness for the reunion. The traditional red and black of the Água Verde neighborhood momentarily gave way to rival Tricolor. Saturday felt like Sunday and the debut in the competition felt like the final of a decisive championship.

“The fans understood the moment and answered the call made by the club, which depends on us. I’ve been sleeping for three nights, not working at work, thinking about seeing my Tricolor again. I have an incredible feeling of return”, reported the paranista Rauni Gomes38 year old server.

Inside the Ligga Arena, the announcer was the same as for Athletico games. But this time, the message was different: it praised the team’s entry and ‘handed over’ the stadium’s sound to the organized fans Fúria Independente.

Paraná Club: Tcheco and Liliu receive an ovation

With 23 signings for the State Access Division, Paraná Clube had two major highlights. Striker Liliu, who scored the first goal, and the Czech coach were applauded by the Paranistas at the Ligga Arena.

Liliu was acclaimed by the fans. In addition to being the team’s top scorer, with six goals in eight games in the Access Division last year, the 33-year-old striker cried when leaving the pitch in 2023.

The Czech coach, revealed in the Tricolor youth categories in the 90s, is in charge of Paraná Clube. With the image of leadership built throughout his career as a player, the Curitiba native is a central figure in restoring Tricolor.
