Michel Pereira shines and erases rival with lightning finish at UFC 301

A true ‘showman’. Michel Pereira shone in front of his fans UFC 301. With a fight expected at this Saturday’s event (4), in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian opened his toolbox and excited the fans in the fight against Ihor Potieria. Complete with a backflip, efficient striking and high-level jiu-jitsu, the ‘Paraense Voador’ ‘erased’ his opponent with a lightning-fast submission in just 54 seconds.

The victory makes Michel advance in the middleweight division (up to 83.9kg). A former standout in the welterweight division (up to 77.1kg), the athlete remains undefeated in three challenges in the category, and has accumulated eight consecutive victories.

Cast at the last minute at the event, Potieria was unable to present much in the fight. The Ukrainian now has three stumbles in the last five matches.

Didn’t even sweat

The fight began with Pereira taking the initiative with a straight shot and a kick to his opponent’s waistline. Afterwards, a straight shot from Michel landed squarely in the face of his opponent, who went to the canvas. Pereira threw the ‘mortal’ back and began a massacre. Potieria got to his feet, but ended up caught by a guillotine. The Brazilian applied pressure and forced the athlete to give up while standing.
