Rapper says he was sued by Iron Maiden for plagiarism

Do you know rapper OsamaSon? Me neither, but it’s a name on the rise. At age 20, in 2023 he released his first two albums “Osama Season” and “Flex Musix”, which have already accumulated millions of streams on Spotify.

For the rock crowd he only became known now in 2024, when he broke the bubble with his new album, “FLXTRA album” — not because of the music, but because of the cover.

The guy decided to simply take one of the most iconic images of Iron Maiden’s mascot from the time of one of their main works, “Powerslave” (1984). Just that! He didn’t even redo the image, just applied some kind of red, grainy filter.

As published by Hip Hop DX, OsamaSon said he had been sued by Iron Maiden and took the opportunity to warn that “the cover is gone”.

You don’t even need to be an expert to know that OsamaSon actually plagiarized one of Eddie’s mummy artworks from “Powerslave”. Iron Maiden, however, was accused by some of having plagiarized the cover of the album “Powerslave” — which at least resembles that of the album “All ‘n All”, released by Earth Wind & Fire seven years earlier.
