Among many action scenes, there was one that Kirsten Dunst refused, claiming she didn’t need to experience that adrenaline rush.

Not all actors and actresses are big fans of action scenes and Kirsten Dunst is the perfect example of this. Recently, the Civil War actress shared in an interview with GQ that she only made one refusal during director Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man triology.

In the film, Kirsten played Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker’s (Tobey Maguire) love interest and remembers a test that the production did with her to perform an action scene. This scene in question is a moment where Mary Jane falls from a balcony and Spider-Man appears to save her.

“I did a lot of my own stunts in Spider-Man and I remember a scene they tested on me once. They basically pulled me to the top of a Sony sound stage, which is huge, and let me fall freely until the last second. I thought, ‘You should have done this on camera.’ It was like a bungee jump, and I’m not the best person to do that. I don’t need that adrenaline, personally, so I put my foot down and thought, ‘I’ll never do that again.’”

Kirsten Dunst talks about Spider-Man 4 rumors

Still in the interview, the actress commented on the rumors that emerged about a possible sequel to the original Spider-Man and said: “This universe is very open. It’s anything. So for me to be in Spider-Man again, or something like that, is possible, I think.” Despite the great box office success of the third film, grossing US$895 million at the global box office, director Sam Raimi immediately tried to deny all speculation about a possible sequel.

“It just became this thing where there was a deadline and I didn’t want to do something that wasn’t good at all. I felt like I had compromised a little bit with Spider-Man 3 and I really wanted to give back to the audience. Spider-Man 4 is about doing the best Spider-Man of all.”
