Billie Lourd, Carrie Fisher’s daughter, revealed what her mother’s favorite ‘Star Wars’ film was. The actress, who passed away in 2016, immortalized the role of Princess Leia, starring in the original trilogy of the film saga.

Lourd, who is also an actress and is part of the cast of the anthology series ‘American Horror Story’, once again delved into the theme of the saga during preparations for Star Wars Day, celebrated on Saturday (4).

The date was chosen because of the similarity between the English pronunciation (May the 4th) and one of the most iconic phrases from the films: “May the force be with you” (in Portuguese: “May the force be with you”). Lourd collaborated with sales site eBay to bring together collections of ‘Star Wars’ items.

In addition to claiming to be a big fan of the franchise as a whole, Billie answered the difficult question about her favorite film and decided to honor her mother’s preference. “I have to choose ‘Empire’ [O Império Contra-Ataca, 1980]. That was my mom’s favorite, and I think mine too,” she said.

“But ‘A New Hope’ [1977] It’s very classic too. And ‘Return of the Jedi’ [1983] — Jabba!”, he continued, mentioning the entire original trilogy and the moment in which Leia kills Jabba, the alien gangster with the body of a slug.

Despite her appreciation for all the classic features, Lourd concluded: “I need to follow my mother’s example, and that was her favorite. I think it was the one she enjoyed doing the most and her favorite.”

Regarding the responsibility of continuing to spread her mother’s legacy, Lourd — who became part of the franchise in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ (2015), when she played Lieutenant Connix — was honored.

“It’s crazy to me. It really is. It’s really incredible that I appeared in these films, even with the small role I played. It’s a gift for me and my children,” he declared.

Fisher also participated in the film that marked his daughter’s debut in the saga. She would go on to appear in two other films in the franchise: ‘The Last Jedi’ (2017) and ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ (2019), both released after her death.
