Surprisingly, perhaps not so much, In the Wrong Place, a film starring Bruce Willis, is in first place in the ranking of most watched films in Brazil on Netflix. The film directed by Mike Burns and released in 2022, has a script by Bill Lawrence, executive producer of Ted Lasso and also screenwriter for the series Speaking Really (2023).

It turns out that In the Wrong Place is not just another of the Die Hard and The Sixth Sense actor’s action films, but Bruce’s farewell work in acting. This was one of the last projects he starred in before the actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, and he retired from cinema at the age of 67.

Between September 2019 and March 2023, Bruce Willis released 26 films that went straight to online platforms and this is one of them. This move was part of an agreement between Willis and producer Randall Emmett, where the actor was able to continue working, but without playing as many leading roles as he used to.

Despite its prominence on the platform, the film doesn’t seem to have pleased the public much, with a shocking 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. One of the reviews on the site comments that “it seems like they tried to apply the concept of ‘Die Hard’ to all the characters in this film with a plot that leaves a lot to be desired, meaningless dialogues and average acting.”
