Have you ever imagined a day dedicated entirely to children’s health? This is the proposal for “More Health at School D-Day”, an initiative by the City of Paranaguá in partnership with the Municipal Department of Education, which takes place next Friday (10), at the Sully da Rosa Vilarinho Municipal School, in Ponta do Caju.

The action, which is open to all students with prior authorization from their guardians, promises to bring greater health and well-being to students, offering a set of services:

  • Dental exams and procedures: “Odontomóvel”, a mobile dental clinic, parks at the school to offer consultations with dentists from the Mais Saúde na Escola program.
  • Vaccination card check: Health professionals, including nurses and community health agents, will check the students’ vaccination status, ensuring that everyone is up to date with their protection.
  • Health assessments: Anthropometric assessments will be carried out to monitor the growth and development of children.
  • Early detection of high blood pressure: The team will be attentive to signs and symptoms of high blood pressure for early diagnosis.
  • Educational lectures: Children will participate in lectures on the importance of oral hygiene and other health-related topics.

We are looking forward to this day. Our team is prepared to carry out epidemiological surveys, as well as small preventive procedures and educational lectures. We believe that oral health is fundamental to the general well-being of students“, says dentist Wilson de Moraes, director of the Department of Oral Health.

The choice of Escola Municipal Sully Vilarinho to host the event was not by chance. In addition to having an adequate infrastructure to receive the health team and the Odontomóvel, the school has a large number of students who can benefit from the initiative.

This is yet another example of how we can join forces between education and health to promote the best for our students. The Mais Saúde na Escola program is a fundamental tool in this process“, highlights Ghislaine Corrêa, superintendent of Health Care.

According to Ghislaine, with this initiative, the City Hall reaffirms its commitment to the integral development of students, ensuring that they have access to quality healthcare from childhood.
