Aquidauana, a city in the interior of Mato Grosso do Sul, faces a double challenge when it comes to public health: in addition to the persistent battle against Covid-19, it is now faced with an increase in cases of Influenza A, also known as the flu H1N1.

According to data from the Municipal Health Department, two deaths from Influenza A were confirmed in the city, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. In addition, 215 cases of flu syndrome and 85 cases of covid-19 were recorded. To complicate matters further, 35 cases of Influenza A have been identified, requiring a quick and effective response from health authorities.

Faced with this worrying scenario, the population of Aquidauana is being advised to double their health care and adopt preventive measures to prevent the spread of these diseases. Among these measures, vaccination against Influenza A stands out, available in all health units in the city and aimed at the entire population over 6 months of age.

In addition to vaccination, it is essential that the population is aware of flu symptoms and seeks immediate medical attention when showing signs of acute respiratory illness. Treatment for Influenza A is also available in healthcare facilities, ensuring that patients receive the assistance they need to recover.

To assist in early diagnosis and appropriate treatment, the Unified Health System (SUS) is providing tests for flu syndrome, especially for people with severe symptoms and who are vaccinated, in the city’s hospital network.

The Municipal Health Department reinforces the importance of the collaboration of the entire population of Aquidauana in the fight against covid-19 and Influenza A. Prevention is the best weapon in this fight, and each citizen has a crucial role to play in protecting health public and the well-being of all.
