MPAM’s general ombudsman carries out a technical visit and discusses the defense of women’s rights at Aleam

The MPAM Women’s Ombudsman’s Office and the Aleam Women’s Attorney’s Office must work in partnership and in defense of women

The general ombudsman of the Public Ministry of Amazonas (OGMP), prosecutor Jussara Maria Pordeus e Silva, met, this Tuesday morning (30/04), with the coordinator of the Women’s Attorney’s Office of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Aleam), state deputy Alessandra Campêlo, to exchange experiences, discuss strategies and discuss the technical cooperation agreement that will be signed in the coming days between the two bodies.

During the meeting, prosecutor Jussara Pordeus and deputy Alessandra Campêlo discussed emblematic cases received in their respective bodies, in which they acted in favor of Women’s Rights. On that occasion, the prosecutor made herself available to the Aleam Women’s Attorney’s Office, to collaborate in forwarding demands to the competent authorities.

After the meeting, the MPAM Ombudsman General visited the offices of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Women and the Public Defender’s Office of Amazonas, located within Aleam, where she learned about the operational processes of the bodies and their structures. “The work being carried out by the Women’s Attorney’s Office is extremely important for the progress of our State. This specialized effort to promote access to rights and combat violence against women is fundamental to correcting gender asymmetries that delay the development of society as a whole”, said the ombudsman general.

The Women’s Ombudsman’s Office operates on the ground floor of the Attorney General’s Office headquarters building, next to the MPAM Ombudsman’s Office.
