The Social Integration Program (PIS) and the Public Servant Heritage Training Program (PASEP) are benefits that provide, annually, additional remuneration to Brazilian workers who meet the criteria established by law. In this article, we will explain the main changes to the payment calendar for 2024 and how you can check if you are entitled to the benefit.

What is PIS/PASEP?

Established by Law No. 7,998/90the PIS and PASEP programs mainly aim to benefit private sector workers and public servants, respectively, who are registered in activity with a monthly remuneration of up to two minimum wages. The salary bonus for PIS/PASEP is equivalent to up to one minimum wage, depending on the length of work during the base year.

What are the rules for receiving PIS/PASEP?

  • Be registered with PIS/PASEP for at least five years, since 2019;
  • Have received up to two minimum wages during 2022;
  • Have carried out remunerated activity for a Legal Entity, for at least 30 days, consecutive or not, in the same year;
  • have the data updated by the employer in the Annual Social Information List (RAIS) or eSocial.

What is the PIS/PASEP payment schedule?

The Deliberative Council of the Worker Support Fund (CODEFAT) defined new dates for payment of the benefit in 2024. Unlike previous years, payments are now scheduled according to the beneficiaries’ month of birth. Below, check out the schedule:

  • January: February 15, 2024
  • February: March 15, 2024
  • March and April: April 15, 2024
  • May and June: May 15, 2024
  • July and August: June 15, 2024
  • September and October: July 15, 2024
  • November and December: August 15, 2024

How much will be paid and how to check the value of your PIS/PASEP?

The amounts paid vary depending on the number of months worked in the base year 2022. The payment scale is proportional, as indicated in the table below:

  • 1 month worked: R$ 117.66
  • 2 months worked: R$ 235.32
  • 3 months worked: R$ 352.98
  • 4 months worked: R$ 470.64
  • 5 months worked: R$588.30
  • 6 months worked: R$ 705.96
  • 7 months worked: R$ 823.62
  • 8 months worked: R$ 941.28
  • 9 months worked: R$ 1,058.94
  • 10 months worked: R$ 1,176.60
  • 11 months worked: R$ 1,294.26
  • 12 months worked: R$ 1,412.00

To check whether you are entitled to the bonus and check the amount to be received, workers can use the following digital channels:

  • Digital Work Card Application

This payment period extended and adjusted to the month of birth seeks to facilitate access to the benefit, avoiding queues and crowds during payment periods and ensuring that all eligible workers receive their allowance within the new calendar established for 2024.
