O Labor Electronic Domicile (DET) was established in 2021 for the Undersecretariat of Labor Inspection to modernize communication between labor inspectors and employers. Previously, these interactions were carried out through traditional procedures, established by the CLT in 1943.

O Ministry of Labor and Employment states that the DET it speeds up communication, reduces bureaucracy and eliminates the need for travel to meet tax requirements. The system covers notifications, subpoenas, tax processes and administrative decisions, providing a more efficient way of exchanging information.

The ministry emphasizes that, even if the MEI or another employer does not update their contacts in the system, any notification issued through the DET will be considered as received, due to the “presumed science”. This reinforces the importance of registration to ensure compliance with the guidelines of the DET.
