GWM Poer has been promised for Brazil for some time, but it should will only actually arrive in 2025, to compete with Toyota Hilux and company. The public for medium-duty pickup trucks is used to 4×4 traction models and diesel engines, but in this case it is a plug-in hybrid (with external recharging) and will be flex-fuel here. Autosport went to China to drive the pickup.

The manufacturer’s initial plan was to produce Poer in Iracemápolis (SP) in May this year. However, due to new taxation on imported hybrids and electrics, plans changed and the launch it will be the last quarter of 2025as Autoesporte reported firsthand.

When it arrives here, we can already say one thing: Poer will have a very different look. The platform will remain the same that we met at the GWM proving ground in Baoding, a city close to the capital of China, Beijing.

Regarding the engine, the GWM Poer PHEV will come with the plug-in flex hybrid which, in Asia, yields 408 hp It is 76.5 kgfm of torque. But, unlike the H6, which focuses on urban use of electric autonomy without fuel consumption, the pickup’s PHEV system will favor a combination of the use of electric and combustion engines, to have a combined range of between 800 km and up to 1,000 km.
