A man managed to have the luck that many people wish for: win the lottery. The father of the family won the prize draw worth 1 million euros (around R$6,288,442.57 reais). However, he decided to share the amount with his neighbors and his daughter for a somewhat curious reason.

The news of the victory came after the song “Money, Money, Money” by the band Abba played on the radio. The winner, Tony Frater, 69, said that the music started after a power cut caused his doorbell to ring, without anyone actually ringing it. “Prior to this, five short power outages caused the wireless doorbell to ring every time the power was turned back on. But there was no one at the door,” said Tony.
Retired decided to share his luck
After the “signal” received, as he himself stated, Tony decided to place a bet on the lottery. According to The Sun, the retiree made the bet believing that the bell signals and the music on the radio were an “omen” that luck would be on his side. After placing the bet, the retired engineer managed to win the lottery in Staplehurst, England.
With that, Tony Frater became the new millionaire of the small town about 95 km from London. Having bet after hearing five bells, Tony decided to share the prize he acquired with five other people: four neighbors and his daughter. However, even with the division, Tony still kept approximately 167 thousand euros (approximately R$1,050,000).
When asked by The Sun about what he will do with the amount, Tony stated that he will celebrate his 70th birthday with his wife Sharon and his brother Marcus. Because everyone is retired, the party will take place without any worries. “We are all retired and will be able to do things without worrying about anything. Safety is the most important thing,” said Tony.
