To the Israel Defense Forces stated on Thursday, 9, that around 9,500 rockets and mortars have been fired into Israeli territory since October 7, when Hamas terrorists murdered 1,400 innocent people and kidnapped another 240. In just the first four hours of the terrorist attack, 3 thousand projectiles were launched from the Gaza Strip.

“Air defense system fighters intercepted thousands of rockets across all layers of defense. Since the start of the war, around 9,500 rockets and dozens of drones have been launched towards Israeli territory.”said the military spokesman, Daniel Hagari.

“In addition, around 12% of the total launches towards Israeli territory fell into the Gaza Strip and around 900 launches were carried out from civilian locations such as: mosques, schools, hospitals and cultural centers. This data once again emphasizes the cynical use of civilians by the terrorist group Hamas.”he added.

The Israeli Army also said that approximately 2,000 projectiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome (short range), David’s Sling and Patriot (medium range), and Arrow (long range) air defense systems.

For the first time, all of Israel’s air defenses were activated simultaneously.

“The air defense system fighters intercepted thousands of rockets in the defense areas and, with the entry of ground forces into the Gaza Strip, a significant decrease in the number of launches is evident. The air defense network was deployed in the most extensive manner ever seen and carried out interceptions from Mount Dov in the north to the Red Sea in the south.”the Israeli Defense Forces said.

“The success of the network was achieved, among other things, due to the deep cooperative effort between the IDF and defense industries, as well as between the IDF and the United States Army, which are force multipliers in this war.”
