Egypt closed the Rafah crossing again this Wednesday (8th), on the border with the Gaza strip, after Hamas hid terrorists in ambulances transporting the wounded from the enclave to the border postreports the Sheet.

As a result, the 34 Brazilians who remain trapped in Gaza must have their exit postponed again. The sixth list of people allowed to leave the territory on Wednesday morning, before the Egyptian government decided to close Rafah, included citizens from Ukraine, the Philippines, the USA, Germany, Romania and Canada.

The São Paulo newspaper writes: “The incident, according to people with knowledge of the matter in Tel Aviv and Cairo, angered both governments, which have been coordinating efforts to evacuate the most seriously injured in the Israeli campaign against Hamas, which has ruled Gaza since 2007 and started a war against the Jewish State a month ago”.

In a note in which he refuted accusations that Israel was retaliating against Brazil for its positions, the Israeli ambassador in Brasília, Daniel Zohar Zonshine, stated that the terrorist group “is making cynical use of the foreign civilian population in the middle of war”.
