Two sisters were arrested last Monday (21) in Saint-Denis, in the Paris region, for stealing jewelry from a Brazilian woman who attended Paris Fashion Week, last September, informed AFP this Wednesday (23) by a source close to the investigation and the Public Ministry.
They were taken into custody for “aggravated theft”, reported the public prosecutor of Bobigny, noting that the sisters could be taken to court next Thursday (24).
On September 27, the Brazilian executive disembarked at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport and took a tourist vehicle to attend Parisian Fashion Week, which had started the day before.
At an intersection in the commune of Saint-Denis, north of Paris, the vehicle got stuck in a traffic jam, a source close to the investigation told AFP at the time of the events.
Two men approached on a motorcycle, broke the rear window of the vehicle and stole a carry-on bag and a Louis Vuitton suitcase, without causing any injuries, according to a police source.
When filing the complaint, at the police station in the 16th district of Paris, the executive valued the stolen goods at 3 million euros (more than R$ 16 million), an amount that was not confirmed by the Public Ministry.
