Beau DeMayocreator of X-Men 97′abandoned the project shortly before the release of the first season of the animation Disney+. This, however, does not prevent him from revealing one thing or another about what was planned for the series.

Now, DeMayo went to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to a fan and revealed that his idea for the series was a story to be developed over five seasons. It all started when a fan asked “At the end of the first season, will we have a general closure or a big cliffhanger that will make us crazy for the second season? By the way, thank you for making this series incredible, from the first episode to the last it is perfect”DeMayo responded: “Thank you. I would like you to discover the answers for yourselves. But I will also say that I had a plan for five seasons.”. See below.

The new version picks up where the 90s series left off, after the finale from the 5th season, aired in 1997. Beau DeMayo (The Witcher) served as showrunner of the first season.

O Next to X-Men ’97 airs this Wednesday (1), on Disney+.
