Meet the new characters
José Augusto (Renan Monteiro) – First son of Maria Santa (Duda Santos) and José Inocêncio (Humberto Carrão/Marcos Palmeira) and the only one of the four who keeps memories of his mother. Together with his brothers, José Bento (Marcello Melo Jr) and José Venâncio (Rodrigo Simas), he chose to study as a child in the capital, Salvador. Meticulous, he completed his medical course, tirelessly seeking his father’s approval. However, his trajectory takes an unexpected turn when he becomes the target of an investigation at the hospital, being prevented from practicing his profession, at the same time facing a painful separation.
José Bento (Marcello Melo Jr) – He spent a large part of his student life at a boarding school in Salvador, away from his father’s gaze, and later moved to São Paulo. Smart, the lawyer avoids work and embraces the law of least effort. He supports himself off his father’s money without any remorse, in addition to getting involved in scams. Furthermore, he is both financially and emotionally dependent on Kika (Juliane Araujo), his eternal companion, whom he turns to as if she were his own mother in many situations.
José Venâncio (Rodrigo Simas) – Third son of the protagonist, he was the only one who achieved financial independence. Even so, he maintained the hope of receiving affection that the colonel never knew how to offer. Working as an advertiser, he is married to Eliana (Sophie Charlotte), with whom he has been trying to start a family for some time, although the relationship is tumultuous. He finds himself deeply in love with Buba (Gabriela Medeiros).
