Go there, Calabrese.” The brothers were confused by the expression, and Davi explained that “it’s a review there in Salvador”. Within the program, some participants thought that Davi was being fatphobic when using the expression, which is actually just a nickname used during pranks by comedian Toninho Tornado, which was successful in 2023, generating variations, and was used by several celebrities.

The expression was used during Toninho Tornado’s prank for his YouTube channel. In the video, he argues with people on the street, calling them nicknames, such as “delício”, “butterfly”, “mortadelo”. “Calabreso” is one of the expressions, which was used during the prank as “an affectionate nickname”, explains the comedian.

Who is Toninho Tornado?

Born in Belo Horizonte, Toninho moved very young to the outskirts of São Paulo, in Jardim Peri. He says, in an interview with the podcast Podpah, that his inspiration was Mussum, and that he tried to do comedy for 27 years. The comedian was discovered in Osasco with a report made by TV networkand ended up going on television in 2013.

The idea for slang came up when he was still a firefighter, in a discussion with a friend, when he used the expression “Delício”, in 1998. Toninho says that he has kept the expression since that time, “I’m going to take this to television”. Still in an interview with Podpah, he expresses gratitude for the success he has achieved, and reveals that he is often contacted by football players. The comedian also spoke about the expressions he intends to use in the next pranks: “caldo-de-cano”, “fruit salad”, “sapopembo” and “library”.
