Regina Duarte revealed that she intends to return to acting soon. In an interview with the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, the artist confessed that she really wants to play a biblical character in the Record TV soap operas and is just waiting for the broadcaster’s invitation.
“It’s not impossible, but it’s difficult, because, after so much I’ve already done, it’s kind of unlikely that anyone will be able to propose something new to me that I haven’t already done. If this happens and it is something that for me means an important message for my audience, for Brazilian society, of course I will accept it”, he said.
“I would really like to do an evangelical soap opera on Record, I like those stories, I’m fascinated by it, and I feel like it’s not just me. A lot of people like it”, added she, who was recently seen collecting cardboard on a street.
Controversially, the actress also took advantage of the occasion to criticize TV Globo, the channel where she worked for more than 50 years. “TV Globo resonates with a part of society that is ‘gritalhona’, that exposes itself, that is always on social media, in dances, in music. It’s a new generation that’s here, and TV Globo responds. And there is your audience. A lot of people from my time, from my generation, complain and don’t watch it anymore,” she said.
“It’s the price you pay for not being able to please everyone, as Globo did in the past, it had 100% audience. Those who think Regina can add something are the Bolsonarists, who are with me. I don’t have any resentment about it, I think it’s a right, but there’s confusion there,” she concluded.
