SBT is preparing its own streaming platform for 2024. Under the name +SBT, the service should bring together all of the broadcaster’s content, replacing SBT Vídeos, which has been adding the programming collection for a few years.
The first image of +SBT was posted on social media by the station’s vice-president, Daniela Beyruti. The photo, which shows the platform’s likely logo, was also shared by SBT’s communications leader, Maísa Alves.
What will be the content of +SBT?
More information about SBT’s new streaming platform was released by columnist Simião Castro, from Estadão.
According to him, the platform will bring together SBT’s entire catalog and original titles and will have an exclusive session only with content from the Silvio Santos Program.
The columnist also says that SBT should increase +SBT with original content, such as a new version of Sítio do Pica Pau Amarelo, as well as documentaries about the history of presenters who were successful in the house, such as Hebe Camargo and Gugu Liberato.
To the report of Medium & Messagethe broadcaster’s communications area confirmed the platform project, pointing out that the launch could take place in the first half of 2024. No other details of the service were given.
+SBT, SBT Vídeos and digital presence
Since 2020, after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, SBT has organized its entire collection on the SBT Vídeos platform, which allows access to programs, realities, soap operas and other attractions that make up the broadcaster’s schedule.
Access to SBT Vídeos is completely free and the platform displays advertisements, in accordance with the business model designed by the broadcaster.
Before that, SBT was already working on distributing its content on digital media through YouTube. Practically all of the programs on the schedule can be viewed in full – or in frames – on various official channels of these attractions.
The SBT YouTube channel alone, which brings together the main content of the various attractions, has more than 12 million followers.
